waiting for my shoes

I can't think of anything better than treating myself to a pair of shoes after a long and exhausting week at work!
The perfect ankle boot heels to walk around the whole day - chunky, comfy , high but not too high, black, leather, goes with everything, stylish, statement - but not in your face... just what I need!

These are soon going to be my little babies...
And I can see them already creating a great look when worn with my autumn/winter blacks and subtle hues.

They are from H&M and 100% suede leather (60 EUR) - which is very important to me - LEATHER!

For those a bit more colour brave than me - red or light brown are also available

 just perfect for now!

Secret gardens

Completely hidden and tucked away I found the most beautiful little gardens (German: Schrebergarten) in my lunch break. In the middle of the city, behind tall office buildings and the hustle and bustle that comes with it, the most quiet and most beautiful autumn nature was there to be admired.

LFW

What would a blog be (with a heavy focus on fashion) without a little report or mention on London Fashion Week???

You’ve probably seen it all on various websites and other blogs or you might have even been there...!
But nonetheless, I have gathered a few of my fave pics from LFW. I could make my list sooo much longer but I like to keep things short and sweet.

So, here you go! ...what do you think and what do you like best?

Ann Sofie Back - SS12 inspiration: God, spaghetti and delusions

Ashish -  the woman wearing Ashish clothes is fun-loving and sexy with a sense of humour. She likes to make an entrance

Erdem - design signatures: colour, optimism and oddities

Felder Felder - the two sister are from Germany but their home is in London

Felder Felder - SS12 inspiration: Jen Brill meets Pina Bausch dancers at a galmourous gig downtown

Mulberry - Signature design: BRITISH and nostalgic Brownies' and Scouts' uniforms

PPQ - ideal client: Sophia Lauren in a rush with Peter Sellers in tow

Wies’n aka Oktoberfest must-haves

Today the shenanigans in Munich have started – that is the Oktoberfest!!! Around 6 million people are expected to come to the Oktoberfest which ends on the 3rd October. It’s soooo much fun, but you have to like beer. Apparently 3 million litres of beer are consumed during this time!

Here are the must-haves:

Dirndl

no matter whether you are 60, 16 or only 6 years old - everyone wears a Dirndl

push up bra - a MUST when wearing a Dirndl

a "Edelweiss" necklace to show off them nice crystals :-)

the boys wear Lederhosen

...mostly combined with a checked shirt

'Haferl' shoes and "Wadenwärmer" for the real Bavarians

A 'Mass Bier' - a litre of beer - stronger and tastier than anything you have tasted before

a huge Brez'n

a gingerbread heart - Wiesnherz. Make sure you get given one from your Wiesn flirt

last but not least a little hand bag to carry your purse, mobile and lipgloss

what a bliss!

the wedding dress from approx 1971

I was skyping with my lovely friend from Vienna just now. Today while she was clearing out the her aunt’s house she found the most amazing suitcase and box from her aunt. She immediately had to show me her findings.
Here are a few snap shots I made from skype.

In the suitcase was the aunt’s wedding dress. It had been in there for 40 years! It’s from the early 70s and is just stunning! Look at those sleeves! The long veil with embroidered flowers!

In the box was the aunt's “confirmation dress” which must be even older. It’s a light minty green and is so now with the Peter Pan collar.

Don’t you think that is an amazing finding?

Have a look at the next two images from the film "the graduate". almost alike!

Charlie's

Charlie is my new favourite Vietnamese restaurant! Geeez it was so yummy! It’s just across Wittelsbacher bridge in Munich and definitely worth a visit (if you live in Munich).

All ingredients are fresh which makes the place smell like a little herb garden! The interior is simple yet edgy (refurb of an old german "wirtshaus") with bright colours and funky interior detailing.
