my favourite - ROSES

Roses - I adore roses in all shapes, forms, patterns, scents etc.
This is why I've gathered a few of my favourite roses (-motives).

These are in fact real roses - today blossiming in my garden. I got this HUGE rose tree from my bofy last year to our anniversary.
Now that we have moved to a place with a garden this is what they look like today:

But this is not all my complete rose collection... I have my roses integrated in my life in all sorts of ways:
The art paintings are from Cy Twonbly and I fell in love with his paintings in Museum Brandhorst in Munich. The book is from Pippa Middleton and is decorating my living room.

Rose scented toiletries: Rose showergel (Marks & Spencer), Rose face water (Roberts - only in Italy), Rose body lotion & Hand cream (M&S), Maroccan Rose oil (the body shop), Soap/ shower gel (anatomicals).

Cupcakes I got from my boyfriend, silicon rose-shaped baking shapes, home-made cake for my boyf with rose coloured icing.

I also wear roses: skinny jeans by boden, wallpaper, skinny corduroy trousers from marks & sparks, dress from charity shop.

Key holder with vintage rose embelishment, handpainted box & my favourite perfume for 5 years now from Paul Smith - Rose.

...further roses dotted over my home.

Gift table for me from my boyf and my two cats mingling in between my rose bouquets.

I'm addicted to rose tea! very yummy: lov, kusmi tea or yogi tea. Also try the teashed.

and this is one of my two cats named ROSIE :-)

Secret gardens

Completely hidden and tucked away I found the most beautiful little gardens (German: Schrebergarten) in my lunch break. In the middle of the city, behind tall office buildings and the hustle and bustle that comes with it, the most quiet and most beautiful autumn nature was there to be admired.

Wies’n aka Oktoberfest must-haves

Today the shenanigans in Munich have started – that is the Oktoberfest!!! Around 6 million people are expected to come to the Oktoberfest which ends on the 3rd October. It’s soooo much fun, but you have to like beer. Apparently 3 million litres of beer are consumed during this time!

Here are the must-haves:

Dirndl

no matter whether you are 60, 16 or only 6 years old - everyone wears a Dirndl

push up bra - a MUST when wearing a Dirndl

a "Edelweiss" necklace to show off them nice crystals :-)

the boys wear Lederhosen

...mostly combined with a checked shirt

'Haferl' shoes and "Wadenwärmer" for the real Bavarians

A 'Mass Bier' - a litre of beer - stronger and tastier than anything you have tasted before

a huge Brez'n

a gingerbread heart - Wiesnherz. Make sure you get given one from your Wiesn flirt

last but not least a little hand bag to carry your purse, mobile and lipgloss

Charlie's

Charlie is my new favourite Vietnamese restaurant! Geeez it was so yummy! It’s just across Wittelsbacher bridge in Munich and definitely worth a visit (if you live in Munich).

All ingredients are fresh which makes the place smell like a little herb garden! The interior is simple yet edgy (refurb of an old german "wirtshaus") with bright colours and funky interior detailing.

Bubble Tea

After having heard so much about the new drink Bubble Tea I finally tried it today. We went to the Bubble T shop in Munich, am Rindermarkt.

Bubble Tea started off in Taiwan in the 80ies and spread from there over to other eastern Asian countries, then to American China towns and now is finally here.

I asked the girls sitting outside the Bubble T shop if I could take a picture as I really liked their animal print cardis in combination with the bright colourful chairs.

Have you tried bubble tea yet?

Liebeskind Bag and hot days

During the heat wave in Munich I couldn’t resist but to buy this beautiful soft leather LIEBESKIND BERLIN handbag (model: Esther B in stone). Here it is resting on a cute little van belonging to the bistro “zum Laden” ( which means as much as 'to the shop') after a long hot day in the office, followed by a sweaty half hour at the river Isar, a fantastic new hair cut at LILLA and the yummiest “Bollo and Hugo” (Spaghetti Bolognaise that is, and the new summer it-drink Hugo which is white wine/ prosecco, mint and elderflower) at Laden.

OSKA

Finally our internet at home is up and running again! You won’t believe how lost I felt without it. I mean, it’s not that I don’t have an iPhone or use a computer at work. But there are certain things – like my blog – that I HAVE to and LOVE to do on the laptop in the evenings and weekends at home!
Anyway, life goes on.

Oska
On one of the very hot evenings in Munich we headed out for dinner in Schwabing where I stumbled across the new (to me) store OSKAR CLOTHING. As it was past the opening hours -again- I could only take pictures of the window displays and peek into the store. I was absolutely stunned by the cool clean interior of the store. The same simple but nevertheless chic and sophisticated fixtures and fittings are reflected in their fashion as well. I wouldn’t say I am a fan of their website (to be blunt) but their look from peeking into the windows convinced me to go back and have a look inside. I especially fell for this black cape/jumper which I would combine with skin tight leather trousers

Flea Market & Katie Shillingford

Today there was a flea market at the Olympia Park in Munich. Normally it's a football pitch or used for large open air concerts. My boyf., some friends and me went there to look for a cool little something for our new flat. Of course we didn't find anything for the flat - instead I found a pretty white dress which I had to slip on immediately as it turned out to be a lot warmer than I had expected when we left this morning.

Don't you think those skirts on the first pic are fun?

Next Katie Shellingford. The fashion editor at Dazed & Confused.
I am a big fan of her. (It doesn't really go with the above post but as I'm still struggling with no internet at home. That's why I'll combine the two posts :)

in Gareth Pugh wedding dress

...can't wait in about 2 weeks I'll have internet at home again! I'm sooooo looking forward to read in all peace and quiet all your blogs again and be blogging regularly!!

The sun is back

Just a very quick blog post in between boxes and complete utter mess due to the upcoming move on Wednesday.

I just wanted to share another of my favoured shops in Munich. Or I should rather say shop windows. Paul [und] Oscar is the name of the shop and I cycle past it every morning and every evening on my way to and from work. But that shop has just the best window displays as they keep changing them so frequently that you never get bored. You can find cool labels from Antonia Zander, Citizens of Humanity over to Young, Fabulous & Broke etc (check out their website here).
Even though I would normally be more into autumn clothing at this point of time, the window display and FINALLY THE SUN inspired me to this post.

(Es tut mir leid, für die Deutsche Version habe ich heute leider absolute keine Zeit!).
